Why vote for Dave Croteau?
Because he has a vision for a sustainable Tucson-
and the experience, values, and process to get us there.
Tucson citizens have serious and valid concerns about
- growth (too much)
- water (too little),
- neighborhood quality,
- a vibrant local economy,
- too few living wage jobs, and
- transportation issues.
Please visit our issues pages for details on how Dave plans to address these concerns.
Croteau, a life-long Tucsonan, sees "relocalization" as the process to create a sustainable future that addresses these concerns while safeguarding social justice and our economic, energy, and food security. He knows city planning must be in balance with the environment while also realistically considering global warming and the energy crisis.
Croteau's mayoral campaign details ways the Ten Key Values of the Green Party can guide sound policy decisions. Under his leadership, Tucson will become a thriving, sustainable region with a strong local economy. This will improve quality of life now--and leave a healthy, vibrant legacy for future generations.
Dave's campaign committee is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic people with backgrounds in - or a desire to learn - sustainability, relocalization, steady-state economics, bioregionalism, appropriate technologies, renewable energy, public transit, eco-city design and their application to public policy development. Add your wisdom to this grassroots movement to turn our city around. Volunteer now!
The Money Issue
As is standard with Green Party candidates, Dave is accepting no funding from corporations or their PACs. He needs your generous donation ($390.00 maximum per individual) to win this election and put Tucson on the path to sustainability. At a minimum, contribute $10 now if you're a resident of Tucson so we can qualify for Clean Elections matching funds and help people realize this is a serious campaign.
We can choose to change the direction Tucson is heading, and without a Democratic challenger to either the Republican incumbent or the status quo, it's up to the Green Party to do it.
